I was born with a 7 foot long sword and a Chocobo beside me. I eat phoenix downs for breakfast and elixirs for dinner. I slay Tonberries while sleeping and quell Cactuars for fun. We can all dream right? If you recognize any of these references you're a nerd, but also, this article is for you. I've been a diehard FF fan since...well forever. I've racked up countless hours needlessly leveling up my characters and delving into giant maze dungeons and for what? For FUN. I love it! Lately however, I've been pretty disappointed with Square Enix and how they've been responding to their fanbase. Let me rephrase, stop remaking games and give me something original! But that isn't the only problem, their new found "originality" is stale, often boring and nonsensical. Yes I said it, the last few Final Fantasy games have not been impressive to say the least and plainly offend me as a long time RPG lover and avid fan. Now I know this is pure opinion and conjecture, but hear me out.

Lets recap the origins of my dying loyalty. In my opinion, the last great FF game was FFX (FF11 if you count MMOs). I think it went all downhill after that. The 10th addition to the franchise has intense plot, great graphics, amazing music, and well developed characters tied together by a massive chain of back-story (even though the main protagonist intensely annoying). All of those items are components Square Enix usually masters and is known for. FF12 was an ok game. Not quite up to the same caliber as earlier titles. The best thing about that particular game was the huge environments and sidequests. I don't remember the plot and don't care too; the only recollection I have about story of that game was it gave me a very "knights of the round table" kind of feel which I didn't appreciate and what's up with Lord Larsa?? I was unsure if IT was a man or a woman for the entire game; green stockings and pink high heels are not appropriate for any boy, just saying. Now lets move on to the REAL reason I've denounced my old favorite series and why I'm writing this article right now.

Final Fantasy 13 failed at everything that defines Final Fantasy...except the graphics. How far can beautiful environments and detail really distract you from the mishaps of this game? Lets take a look. FF13 took a very interesting approach in its progression. Typical RPG fashion often dictates a relatively a linear course in which players reach a new environment, beat a boss, and often gain a new character; wash rinse and repeat. FF13 however takes this to the extreme. Your characters are separated into groups of two or three for the majority of the game and you cannot pick which character you choose to play as during battle until the whole party is together at chapter 10/11. The ten out of thirteen chapters that take place in the land in the sky or Cocoon were boring and uninspired with no towns, stores, or other people to talk to. I felt isolated and disconnected to the beautiful world Square Enix created, the characters included.

Judging by the constant flurry of commercials, the pictures on the net, and the previews in magazines, I had assumed the main character of the game would be the bold, pink-haired heroine Lightning. However I quickly noticed that the narrator was not Lightning but the even pinker haired Vanille. I can take it, just a little bit misleading. Many of the characters were very one dimensional portraying a single emotion regardless of the situation. Annoyance abound.

I could delve deeper into all the reasons why FF13 did not live up to the hype and disappointed many but I don't expect many can handle a 10 page hate fest. If you'd like me to continue shoot me an email and I'll write it out in full Smile.

Despite the failure of this game among some fans, it was embraced well enough among the mainstream community to initiate a sequel which is currently in the works. If you are a one of those people who loved FF13 I'm happy it entertained you more than me. I personally am not prepared to invest time and money into a franchise I no longer believe in. You never know they could turn around and surprise me, I certainly hope so. How do you guys feel about the Final Fantasy series as a whole as compared to FF13?

What makes a World of Warcraft guide the absolute best? What do you have to do to make yours one of the best World of Warcraft guides?

It really depends upon what sort of guide you are writing. If you are writing class guides, you will want to include as much information on the class as possible. If you are writing a general guide for that class, cover the basics - what can the class do, what is its purpose, what stats does it want, what are some general tips for playing the class well? If you have specialized guides in mind, take a look at what sort of information other guides are posting and consider your audience: are you writing from a raiding perspective? Lore? How about player-vs-player combat or dungeons? You will want to include spec information and get as in-depth as you possibly can. This does not mean you have to whip out a math degree - it takes a certain type of player to get into the math, and ElitistJerks.com covers that sort of thing quite well. The average player does not want to have to get a PhD in order to understand the game, after all.

If you are interested in writing a Gold Guide, you will need to keep in mind that every server's economy is different, so your tips may not work everywhere. You can get away with being fairly general in this sort of guide because people are used to that, as they get a lot of information from self-proclaimed "goblins" and thus are used to dealing with information that is not as clear as they would like. If you want to be adored by the public, however, be thorough. Do your homework across multiple servers, WoWHead, whatever tools you can get your hands on, and be sure to supply your readers with add-ons and information on how to use them. Start with, say, Auctioneer and go from there.

Leveling guides are another, very different, beast. You will need to have a good understanding of various zones, quest hubs and how to best make use of time so your audience is not wasting most of theirs running around like idiots instead of actually leveling. Take a look at existing leveling guides, maybe even make use of some in-game add-ons that you can package together for your readers. People love when things are made easy and they love not having to do a ton of work in order to get the results that they want.

Of course, you could also completely bypass all of that and invest in existing guides. The absolute best on the market right now are Zygor's various guides - they are professionally done, they are shiny and they have the best customer service (and community) around. If you are looking for the best World of Warcraft guides, then choose Zygor Guides. Where else can you get a guide to doing the Loremaster grind? Nowhere, that's where. Invest today, you will not regret it.

What was there: Street Fighter Producer Yoshinori Ono on stage to talk about various projects he worked, including Street Fighter Tekken X.

What they talked Ono began his speech with a slide that said: "Dark Stalkers are not dead." He said he returned to his bosses in Japan with the evidence that supports a Darkstalkers Thurs as an image of the 2010 Comic-Con attendees to take dollar bills, pledged their support for a new fighting game in the series. Ono said that was not enough, so he asked the participants to Comic-Con 2011 to give a bill 10 (or even a $ 20 bill), so that it can take a picture and let his head. The crowd obliged.

He then went on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network versions of Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, both of which have GGPO grid code (a preference for online play in the fight against the community) and a new tournament mode and the usual range ofvisual filters. Ono thanked the fans for helping make this possible.Ono then discussed Super Street Fighter IV Arcade edition and said that based on audience reaction at Comic-Con (or lack thereof) to speak with him, was to guess that the fans are not completely satisfied. But he was ready to have a slide that asked fans to send comments to re-tune and balance Capcom-Unity and Twitter feeds Ono.

Before Tekken Street Fighter X, Ono showed a slide of a Hello Kitty dressed as Chun-Li. He said it was not possible to specify what the project by name, but fans can guess what it is.

As for Street Fighter Tekken X, Part Ono gameplay detailed. The first showed his name will cross, which is essentially a combination system that allows players to score their partners, who then complete the combination. He also showed cancel switch, which allows players to switch characters. In addition, Ono has said that all the characters are great art that moves Ryu are "Shinku Hadouken", but all the characters in Tekken have moved from the samples of art throughout the franchise since the original Namco technique is not comparable. The last two were for the gameplay and the cross supercharge attack. Super special move up charges on three levels, but the third level, it will automatically step to a great art without the help of the grave yards of the Cross, with normal use of a great art. Finally, the cross and dramatic battle mode of attack of the Alpha series, Ono says that only the most strategic, but did not specify what he meant.

Ono also gave an overview of the new characters for the game announced this week, including poisons and Dhalsim from Street Fighter universe, and Steve and Yoshimitsu from the world of Tekken. It is interesting to note that Ono has also shown a trailer with other characters that have not yet been officially announced as part of the grid, like Mike Haggar, Guy, Cody, and Hugo.

The takeaway: Speaking of Street Fighter Tekken X, Ono took a long time for his "feud" with the Tekken benadrukken Harada manufacturer with a sketch that shows the struggle between two thirteen Harada challenges whether the failure should be included in the grid. Yet it was good to see Darkstalkers is always in mind and Ono had a sense of humor about his work.

Are you a rugby fan? Then you probably know what Australia and New Zealand means to Rugby World Cup. What would it be like if both teams weren't included in the world cup?

This is practically what HB Studios has done. What the company has done is take their previous version of Rugby 08 from the playstation 2 four years ago, and zapped it up with new graphics and changed a few minor items which no one will ever notice. They gave it a new name and released it onto the market at an unacceptable high price. Now who could be more devious than that? Seems like the latest NATO fiasco in Libya has taught them that the masses are easily duped.

If you like tri-nations, super 15, and other rugby games that are not in the world cup would you still be interested? Rugby World Cup 2011 contains none of these and only 5 modes. The world cup, single international tests, warm up tours, some international tests,, penalty shoot-outs, multi-player games, but only two people can participate. Half the teams don't feature any of the current world class players, but faceless characters no one even knows. So in reality you getting half a world cup for full price. Of course, you can name the players through the games editor function, but with no faces to the characters, is that any fun?

The gameplay is equally pathetic. There are not enough options on the filed. You are severely limited in what you can do, leaving you frustrated and disappointed that you were caught yet again. If you played FIFA world cup you no doubt were dazzled by the fabulous gameplay that left soccer fans gaping in awe and admiration. Now why can't rugby fans be treated similarly and get something worthwhile?

If you play the game in multi-player mode then it becomes a little more interesting. The controls respond adequately and the moves are easily picked up. If you love rugby then playing in this mode will give you hours of fun and enjoyment despite some of the flaws inherent in the game. You will be able to perform most major maneuvers like side-step, shoulder charges, etc, and most of your enthusiasm won't be dampened after all. You can also choose to play online with players on the Internet, something which was lacking in the playstation 2 edition. The crowd seems a little pathetic. Lots more could have been done to improve the game, but once again, the developer put its own interests first, looking for a fast, easy cash cow and what better than to dupe the rugby world?

If you do get hold of the game and find it vastly disappointing, then don't despair. Rugby Challenge is due for release soon and rumor has it that the game is awesome and features so much exciting choices you will forget Rugby World Cup 2011 as a bad dream.

The Playstation 3 while being revolutionary in the gaming world, has had its share of complaints. The addiction with the console makes it impossible to put down. Due to extensive use of the console, it develops many errors like freezing, red light error, disc error, error codes, YLOD, green light and black screen.

When an error shows up, users are inclined to send their Playstations to the manufacturers repair centre. This would normally take three to four weeks. Playstation fans like us cannot wait for this long. We need our PS3 fixed as soon as possible. At this point, the best way to go is to fix the Playstation yourself. You can easily repair most of the PS3 errors by yourself. Most of the above mentioned problems can be fixed in a few hours.

1. Red flashing light

If you encounter the PS3 red flashing light, your Playstation is overheated. The best thing to do is to turn off your console and let it cool down. If none of these methods work, then you need to get a repair guide to fix the problem.

4. Green Flashing Light

Ten years ago first person shooters were the most popular games on the market. Every gaming company was trying to get through a new FPS because people simply just loved them. All other genre took second fiddle. But all good things come to an end, and the gaming market is fickle, just like any other market today.

FPS suddenly died and their dominance is nothing more than a memory. No one knows, or cares why this happened. Perhaps gamers became more evolved and no longer found excitement in simply running around like a mercenary killing indiscriminately. Maybe gamers were intelligent human beings after all and wanted to think and use their brain power when playing a game. They didn't want to switch off, even when it was time to relax.

Crysis 2 does little to bring any new elements to an already saturated market. Besides, everyone played the first episode. There is nothing creative or exciting in the second series of this game. The developers have done nothing outstanding in any way of graphics, gameplay, or other to make Crysis 2 a much sought after game.

However, there is no denying Crysis 2 does have beautiful aesthetic graphics and the scenes are carefully crafted to deliver an entertaining and enjoyable game. Regardless on which platform you play Crysis 2, it delivers what you expect. If you enjoy first person shooters then Crysis 2 is the most modern game in that category and you can't go far wrong from choosing this enticing game.

The story may not be exceptionally well thought out. It may behave a lot like its predecessor, and it may not be the most exciting FPS you ever played. But generally, the game is well rounded, and provides fans with an above average gaming experience. The action as in the first one, is superb. There is plenty of action as you proceed through the levels causing mayhem. You can perform a vast array of movements and acrobatics and the controls are easy to master. Your weapons provide an extensive range of firepower and you will really love using them. There is something about killing aliens. Gamers, from children to grown adults, love doing this. What is it about aliens?

You can follow one of two game styles. Either you can proceed cautiously, using sniper and surprise attacks on your enemies. The other option is to use overwhelming fire power and storm your way to victory. The risk is that you can die a lot quicker, but many people opt for this method as it relieves that pent up stress you never quite got rid of, because you play games in your free time, instead of going to the gym.

Regardless of your favorite genre, Crysis 2 will bring back fond memories of yesteryear, and even if you were playing it for the first time, it will make you want to go back and play the first release. The music and soundtrack is much improved, even though the first one wasn't all that bad. The graphics are better, the controls are smoother. Your gameplay is better, but that does not mean Crysis 1 was bad in any way.

Simply get the game and play it.

Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon is another third person shooter, and like its predecessor is filled with action packed shoot em up fight scenes that will leave you breathless. The shooting is incredible and the graphics astounding. There is a lot of improvement in the graphics department which is awe inspiring.

The storyline is simple. Insects attack Detroit and the Earth Defense Force must save the city from certain destruction. There isn't much else and the Earth Defense Force will engage insects in fierce battles on multi levels to ensure human kind survives.

In the older version released in 2007 the humor was entertaining, but in this new version it's kind of bland and few gamers will find anything to laugh about. The story isn't too serious and will be enjoyed as something to pass the time. The gameplay in the previous version was also much more enjoyable and the sequel fails to excite gamers beyond the norm. It's an average based third person shooter with nothing spectacular. You won't find it as good as many other third person shooters and after a while the game does get quiet boring. You will be tempted often to put down the controls and forget about finishing the game.

There aren't any magnificent weapons in your arsenal either. You have the normal standard guns to shoot with and the battles although fierce fail to inspire you to do better. Make no mistake, there is plenty of action and you can die easily if you forget to be sensible. You are doing the same stuff over and over and this is what leads to boredom. The enemies remain the same. There's not much variety and the simple gameplay will have you falling asleep.

There is an online function and many fans will prefer using this mode as its far more enjoyable playing with other humans. Even in this mode you still have to be extra careful as survival depends on you holding your own in a wild and lawless country. It's so easy to die, especially if you lose concentration.

The sound is quite nice, though. In this department the developers have improved vastly compared to the first release. The price of the game isn't too high, which is a relief. You can easily afford the game compared to others in this genre.

Although the game lacks depth and excitement it is generally fair to someone who enjoys third person shooters. You won't be inspired to replay the game once you finished. Most gamers would prefer something more, but in Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon everything is pretty much average.

If you buy the game, then you may as well finish it, but if you don't have it, there's no real reason why you should specially try and find it. You aren't missing anything of real value by avoiding it. Once you play it, it will be forgotten fairly quickly and I doubt you will encourage your friends' to get a copy. Keep in mind that the little fun the game provides may appeal to much younger gamers and adults should perhaps stay away from it.

Since the release of Super Mario Kart in 1992 kart racing games have been flooding the market and so many of them have been released that the genre has almost been killed. Let's face it, kart racing isn't exciting anymore.

Sky Drift, however, is a kart racing game that puts all others to shame and breaths new life into the genre. The tracks are fabulous and although there are not many, you will fall in love with the few that are present. The races are exciting and full of action. Throughout the race there are signs pointing you in the right direction. If you should lose control and spin off the track and crash you are instantly re-spawned and thrown back into the race. Most of the time you start from where you left off. The game is quite easy and most kids will love it.

There are many things you can collect which will enhance your racing skills and give you better enjoyment as the game progresses. You also have weapons to take down opponents and other stuff to protect you from getting hit. If you love speed this game is what you need.

There are three different modes to choose from and all of them offer something unique and satisfying. In survivor mode you race for a certain time and when the timer stops the person in the last place is eliminated from the game. This goes on until there is only one player left.

In campaign mode you have to race several tracks. All of them are different and you have to adjust your strategy in order to overcome really hard obstacles. Unfortunately, you can't customize the tracks and must choose one that is available in the game. However, it's nice to play against other real humans and you will have plenty of excitement in your living room. Play too long and it can become rather tedious and mundane. Because of the limited tracks available, you will spend many hours racing too familiar territory and yawning all the way to the finish line. It's best to play the game once and put it away for good, or swap it on eBay.

Sky Drift takes kart racing to new heights. It has everything to make the game wholly satisfying. The good looking tracks and non stop action make this a fun game for kids and adults alike. The limited tracks to race are a serious flaw, but won't affect your fun too much. But another downside is the high price the developers are asking. $15 is a bit high for such limited content. Sometimes selling at a reasonable price isn't only fair, but allows you to sell much more and in the end your profit margin is bigger. Far too many gaming companies are just out to make a quick buck.
